Vegazel uses both UDP and TCP to transfer data. The patent pending UDP functionality enables Vegazel to transfer very large datasets much faster (30x or more) than traditional TCP based solutions, in lossy network conditions. In networks prone to packet losses, Vegazel transfers large datasets using UDP while only the communication messages are exchanged via TCP. Vegazel also provides option to transfer datasets by TCP in lossless environments such as LAN / Fiber optic network.

Vegazel also supports check point restart which means in case a transfer is interrupted due to network failure or any other reason, the retransfer starts from the point of failure thereby saving time and bandwidth. In addition, Vegazel has smart data routing, data compression and advanced scheduling features. Further the hot folder based transfer feature can form basis for integrating disparate applications.
